Innovative Marketing
As may be evidenced by the level of achievements by JoeDanMedia while utilizing a marketing budget of 'zero', Joe Dan has always had a knack when it comes to 'what people like' and how to translate that into effective, achievable,
yet affordable game plans.
Following the AZ Real Estate Collapse of 2007, and prior to starting JoeDanMedia in 2009, Joe Dan (with his Aunt Jean) had a brief stint (2008) with the eBay store "Uncle Fred's Attic" wherein they became a 5-Star Power Seller within the minimal 4-month time required. While 'power seller' indicates a Top Level Seller based on the number of transactions---
the '5 Star' designation means it was done with an unblemished customer service record.
Taking care of the customer was what gave UncleFredsAttic an almost unprecedented customer return Rate of close to 50%.
In the early 1990s, Joe Dan took a salsa made by a Mexican friend, and started selling it in one store in Hazard Ky. Within approximately 6 months, and with the slogan "So Mexican it needs a green card" , Lupita's Salsa was on the shelf in 4 states including top retailers such as
Kroger. Lupita's Salsa lasted less than 2 years, but served as an
invaluable education in growing too fast without proper preparation.
